What's Saving My Life Right Now - Oct 2025

Several authors that I follow pause several times a year and build a 'What's Saving My Life Right Now' list. These lists allow for a simple acknowledgement of what brings joy, relief and fun in life for them in this season.

I picked up the practice several years back and find it so helpful to purposely pause and identify these things for myself!

There are not rules here, simply logging things that are helping me win my days and love life. Maybe these things help you or maybe they remind you about the things that may be saving your life right now too. I think it helps me to name it in order to truly appreciate it.

I'm in a hustle time spent on expanding my business, and although I enjoy every moment, you won't see many mentions of things that someone at my current stage of life might not relate to.

If you scroll to the bottom, I have many other lists linked that include more purposeful fun, if you are looking for a different spin on these lists.

The season may be different from previous season's lists but the intentionality continues so here's what has been saving my life:

  1. Hard Things - When I think back, the times in my life where I have felt most accomplished were the most challenging times. Period. Setting my mind on something hard and working hard to achieve it feels amazing. I hope everyone gets the opportunity in their lifetime to set a big hairy goal, work super hard and reach it. It's just the best.

  2. Delivery Services - My weeks are jam packed. I love it but also, my family has to eat. I've reverted to covid times and have scheduled grocery deliveries and it is absolutely saving my life. I don't know why I ever got away from doing it, honestly.

  3. Creating - The other day, I was cc'd on an email from someone on my team. The first sentence of the email was an introduction, as a project manager from Think Growth Services, my company. It made me stop and smile. I couldn't help it. I created that.

Many times in the process of creating, I marvel at something I built when I see the output. I work everyday to keep momentum around my projects but their existing because of a thought that surfaced and came to fruition is smileworthy.

  4. Seeing my people thrive - When my people are thriving where they are, it makes my heart happy. I don't even know the word for that feeling but it trumps virtually all else.

  5. How I feel when I prioritize movement - Weeks where I schedule workouts and movement feel distinctly different than those where I do not. I may still need the reminder weekly though....

  6. Figuring sh*t out - 3 years ago when I started my business, I knew nothing. I may have actually known less than nothing because I felt like I knew a few things...wrong. I have a quote in my journal right now that says, "What got you here won't get you there." It's written there to encourage me. While I have a lot to learn, the only way I will learn is to just get in there and figure it out.

Most days, I run into something that I haven't done before and without hesitation, I just take one step forward and figure it out.

  7. Trello boards - Everyone has their tools for staying organized, keeping track of all the things and getting work done. Mine is through the use of Trello boards. It's how I keep all the balls in the air and also ask for help from my team, when it's needed. It's visual post its - of course it's saving my life!

  8. Bloom energy drinks - I am not powered by caffeine regularly. I am a 1 cup morning coffee drinker but that's about it. Some days around 2:00 PM, I want to get into a flow state and just get through some tasks. Adding a little caffeine and a Spotify playlist to the mix pretty much sets me up for major productivity. I am not a fan of energy drinks in general but I found one that I enjoy. Here's the one that is saving my life right now.

The things saving my life are just my things. Consider compiling your own 'what's saving my life right now' list just for you or share it with a friend for another way to connect.

This small gratitude practice does wonders for me and I love logging it here so I can look back at points in time to see what was saving my life.

Maybe what's saving your life right now, friend, might help someone else!
